Weezer Announce Massive 32-City Arena Tour With The Shins and Silversun Pickups

Weezer just dropped one of the biggest tour announcements of the year. "The Gathering" is a 32-city North American arena run kicking off this September, and the support lineup alone is worth the ticket price. The Shins and Silversun Pickups are joining for all dates. That's a triple bill that feels like it was pulled straight from a mid-2000s festival dream.
This follows their Voyage to the Blue Planet tour, which ran through 2025 and featured full performances of the Blue Album for its 30th anniversary. The Gathering feels like the next chapter, especially with new music coming along with it.
New Music Incoming
Along with the tour announcement, Weezer are gearing up to release a new single called "Shine Again" on April 1. It's the first single from their currently untitled twentieth studio album, which will be their first release on Reprise/Warner. The band has been teasing lyrics on social media, including "The sun inside will shine / Shine again." Word is Patrick Wilson contributes rare backing vocals on the track, something fans haven't heard since OK Human back in 2021.
Their most recent releases were the SZNZ seasonal EP series that wrapped up with SZNZ: Winter in December 2022, so a proper full-length album feels overdue. Rivers and company have also reportedly been working on a film project, which adds another layer to whatever this new era is shaping up to be.

That Support Lineup Though
I'll be real, The Shins and Silversun Pickups as co-supports on an arena tour is about as good as it gets for anyone who grew up on early-to-mid 2000s indie and alt-rock. Both bands have deep catalogs that hold up, and seeing them on arena stages with proper production is going to hit different. This is one of those tours where you genuinely want to show up early.
Initiation Week in LA
Before the tour kicks off, Weezer are hosting "The Gathering: Initiation Week" in Los Angeles. The week includes a trivia night at Barney's Beanery, a pickleball tournament where fans can actually play against the band, and more events still being announced. Keep an eye on the band's social media and website for the full schedule.
How to Get Tickets
Various presales start Tuesday, March 31 at 10 AM local time. General on-sale is Friday, April 3 at 10 AM local time through Ticketmaster. With 32 arena dates and a lineup this strong, I wouldn't wait around on this one. Don't sleep on it.
