Thy Art Is Murder Forced Off Chaos and Carnage Tour After Emergency Surgery

Thy Art Is Murder are officially off the 2026 Chaos & Carnage Tour. The Australian deathcore heavyweights were set to headline the entire run, but drummer Jesse Beahler was hit with acute appendicitis on his way to the airport and had to undergo emergency surgery. He's recovering well, but doctors have advised him not to fly or perform for six weeks. That's the whole tour, gone.
The timing is brutal but could have been so much worse. The band pointed out that the appendicitis struck at the start of their 20-hour journey from Australia to the States, not somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. That's a small mercy in an otherwise terrible situation.
The good news is Jesse came through surgery without complications and the band already has studio sessions lined up for June and July. So whatever Thy Art Is Murder is cooking next, it's still on track.
Bodysnatcher Steps Up to Co-Headline
Bodysnatcher has been bumped up to co-headline alongside Carnifex, and honestly, that's about as strong a replacement scenario as you could ask for. Bodysnatcher just wrapped their first UK and EU headline tour, they've got a new album on the way called Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home, and they're playing with something to prove right now. If you're holding tickets, this lineup still absolutely delivers.
The rest of the bill stays intact. 200 Stab Wounds, Ingested, Gates to Hell, and Bodybox round out a stacked card from top to bottom. Chaos & Carnage has been doing this for seven years now and the lineups keep getting more dialed in.

What's Next for Thy Art Is Murder
For anyone wondering about the bigger picture here, Thy Art Is Murder has been on a serious trajectory. Their most recent album Godlike dropped in September 2023, the band's first release through their own Human Warfare label. It also marked the introduction of vocalist Tyler Miller, who has since become the band's official frontman. Their November 2024 single Through Blood I Purify was the first track written specifically with Miller at the helm. With studio sessions planned for June and July, it sounds like album number seven is in the works.
Jesse Beahler has been a pivotal part of this band's evolution. He officially joined in 2020 after years of friendship and collaboration, including contributing to the writing and recording of Human Target. Wishing him a fast recovery so he can get back behind the kit where he belongs.
Don't Sleep on This Tour
I'll be real, losing a headliner the day before a tour starts is rough. But if you're into extreme music, this lineup is still one of the best packages touring this spring. Carnifex and Bodysnatcher co-headlining with 200 Stab Wounds and Ingested on the undercard? That's a violent night of music no matter how you look at it.
