Post Malone Pushes Back BIG ASS Stadium Tour to Finish New Double Album

Post Malone just pulled the plug on the first chunk of his 2026 stadium tour, and honestly, his reason makes total sense. The man wants to finish the album before he hits the road. Can't argue with that.
On Friday evening, Malone announced he's pushing back the start of The BIG ASS Stadium Tour Part 2 with Jelly Roll by about three weeks. Six dates have been cancelled outright. The tour was originally supposed to kick off May 13 at El Paso's Sun Bowl Stadium. Now the first headlining date is June 9 in Charlotte, NC at Bank of America Stadium.
What's Behind the Delay
Malone was pretty straightforward about it. In his statement, he said he looked at the schedule after Stagecoach and realized the timeline just wasn't lining up. "Truth is, I promised y'all beautiful people new music, and I don't have the time to finish it before tour starts," he wrote. "We ain't ready for tour just yet, so I'm making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done."
The new music in question is The Eternal Buzz, his upcoming seventh studio album. And this isn't just a regular album. Malone has been teasing a full-on double album with 40 tracks split across two discs. He posted a photo of a whiteboard with "Disc 1" and "Disc 2" sections, each with 20 numbered slots. In an interview with Billboard at Stagecoach last weekend, he said he'd recorded "probably 35 songs" but was still only at the scratch vocal stage. So yeah, there's work to do.
He also acknowledged the fans who had tickets to the cancelled shows, saying, "I'm so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y'all." Then he added with his usual energy, "we been making some badass shit for this double album."
Which Dates Got Cancelled
Six shows are gone entirely, not rescheduled. If you had tickets to any of these, contact your point of purchase for a refund:
May 13 – El Paso, TX @ Sun Bowl Stadium
May 19 – Waco, TX @ McLane Stadium
May 23 – Baton Rouge, LA @ Tiger Stadium
May 26 – Birmingham, AL @ Protective Stadium
May 29 – Tampa, FL @ Raymond James Stadium
June 5 – Oxford, MS @ Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
I'll be real, some of those markets were reportedly having a tough time moving tickets, with discounts and promotions popping up in the weeks leading up to this announcement. So the cancellations probably weren't a surprise to everyone paying attention.

Why This Might Actually Be a Smart Move
Here's the thing. Last summer's original BIG ASS Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll sold out every single date and grossed over $198 million. It was one of the highest-grossing tours of 2025. But the sequel has had a noticeably different energy on the sales side. Neither Malone nor Jelly Roll has released a new album since 2024, and without fresh music driving demand, the ticket sales haven't matched that first run.
The logic here is pretty straightforward. If Malone can get The Eternal Buzz (or at least a hit single from it) into the world before the tour really gets rolling, it could give ticket sales the same kind of boost that F-1 Trillion gave the 2025 run. That album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 250,000 album-equivalent units and spawned massive hits like "I Had Some Help" with Morgan Wallen. That's the kind of momentum you want going into a stadium tour.
A 40-track double album is ambitious. During a Twitch livestream back in December 2025, Post said his goal was to release two full-length albums in 2026. Whether The Eternal Buzz counts as both of those or something separate is still unclear, but the scope of the project is massive.
Who's Opening
Jelly Roll remains the main support act for the North American headlining dates, with Carter Faith opening the show. The one exception is Nashville on June 30, where Carter Faith opens solo and Jelly Roll is not on the bill. For the Asia leg starting in September, Don Toliver steps in as the special guest.
