From First to Last Bring Their New Era to 1720 With an Intimate LA Show
From First to Last are back, they have a new singer, they signed to Fearless Records, and they are bringing all of it to a tiny room in Los Angeles. On Sunday, August 2, the post-hardcore lifers play 1720 in the Arts District to celebrate their brand new single, and honestly a limited-capacity FFTL show is the kind of thing you brag about being at years later.
A new chapter for a scene staple
If you grew up on Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count, you already know the weight FFTL carries in this scene. They were one of the bands that basically defined mid-2000s screamo and post-hardcore, right down to launching the career of a certain teenage frontman who later became Skrillex. This show marks a genuine new era. The band just signed to Fearless Records and welcomed emo rapper Lil Lotus as their new vocalist, and their first song of this lineup, Your Name in Red Ink, just dropped.
The track is the first taste of a forthcoming EP, and Lil Lotus described it as a blend of everything he loves about FFTL mixed with new and old screamo and emo. From the first listen it does exactly that. It sounds like the band that raised a generation of scene kids, just with fresh blood behind the mic. This 1720 date is the release show for it, so you get to hear it live basically the same week it hit streaming.

Fearless Records, S.O.S., and 1720 are teaming up on this one, and they stacked the undercard. Support comes from Car Underwater, Sherane, and The Requiem. Get there early and give the openers your energy, that is the whole point of a room this size.
