Forget everything you thought you knew about celebrity side projects. Dogstar has been quietly proving they're the real deal, and now they're doubling down with a fourth studio album and a tour that spans two continents. All In Now drops May 29 via Dillon Street Records, and honestly, the momentum this band has built since their 2023 reunion album is hard to ignore.

For anyone who still needs the refresher, Dogstar is Keanu Reeves on bass, Bret Domrose on guitar and vocals, and Robert Mailhouse on drums. They formed back in 1994, went quiet in 2002, and then came roaring back in 2023 with Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. That record was their first in over two decades, and it landed with a lot more force than people expected. SPIN called it "honest and inspired," and Rolling Stone praised their "sleek, post-grunge alt-rock." So this isn't a novelty act. These guys can play.

The New Album

All In Now was produced by Nick Launay, and if that name doesn't ring a bell, his resume will. Launay has worked with IDLES, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Amyl and the Sniffers. That's a seriously heavy lineup of collaborators. Apparently the band thought it was a mistake when management floated his name. Mailhouse said they figured it was "a typo" and that Launay would never work with them. But he did, and by all accounts, the sessions were exactly what this band needed.

Keanu described the energy around making this record pretty simply: "We couldn't fucking wait." That's the vibe. There was no hesitation after the reunion album cycle. They went straight back into the studio with a "let's work hard and let's GO" mentality. Domrose put it best when he said the last album was their ticket into the party, and now they've actually shown up.

The album is 12 tracks deep, with songs like Math, Punch the Sky, Shards of Rain, and the title track, which is already out now. The first single All In Now comes with a music video directed by Carlos Garcia Medina. Mailhouse says the track "just whacks you in the head" and calls it a definitive live song. I'll be real, that's exactly the kind of endorsement that makes me want to hear it loud.

The Tour Is Massive

Here's where it gets exciting. Dogstar is heading out on the "All In Now" Tour, and it covers a ton of ground. The run kicks off May 28 in Highland, CA at bEATS at Yaamava' Resort & Casino, then hits Rohnert Park, CA the next night at Graton Resort & Casino before the band heads to Europe.

The European leg is stacked. Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on June 11, London's Roundhouse on June 13, then a set at Download Festival at Donington Park on June 14. From there it's Amsterdam's Paradiso, Paris's L'Olympia, stops at Sierre Blues Festival in Switzerland, Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, and dates in Sweden and Denmark. July brings more festivals including Mad Cool Festival in Spain and NOS Alive in Portugal, plus shows in Rome and Bari, Italy.

The North American leg starts August 1 in Austin at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre, and honestly, the routing reads like a bucket list of iconic venues. Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on August 5. Washington, DC's 9:30 Club on August 11. Philly's Union Transfer on August 12. New York City's Webster Hall on August 19. Boston's House of Blues on August 16. Detroit's Saint Andrew's Hall on August 22. The run wraps up in early September with stops in Denver and Salt Lake City.

If you haven't seen Dogstar live yet, the venues on this tour tell you everything. These are rooms where the energy is tight, the sound is great, and you're close to the stage. This isn't an arena run. This is a rock band playing rock rooms, and that's where they thrive.

Tickets and How to Get Them

North American tour tickets go on sale Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m. local time. The one exception is the August 15 Mashantucket, CT date at Foxwoods, which goes on sale Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m. ET. VIP packages will be available as well. European dates are already on sale now. Head to Dogstar's official website for all the details and ticket links.

Why This Album Feels Different

What makes All In Now interesting is the context. The reunion album was about proving they still had it. This one is about pushing further. They spent serious time on the road after Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, touring across 17 countries and playing everything from small clubs to massive European festivals. That kind of road time changes a band.

Keanu talked about how the European festival circuit made a real impact on them, especially playing for crowds who didn't come specifically to see Dogstar but ended up connecting with what they were doing. Mailhouse recalled outdoor festivals where it started raining and nobody left. Those are the moments that build a band's confidence, and you can hear it in how they talk about this record. There's no second-guessing. They know who they are now.

Producer Launay summed it up well when he said, "I love how Bret's voice and melodies soar above the solid grooves on this album. There's something very honest about it." He also said this trio is "sounding HUGE and will turn some heads this time around." I believe it.

Don't Sleep on This

I'll be real. A lot of people are going to buy tickets because Keanu Reeves is in the band. That's fine. But the people who stick around and become fans? They stay because the music is genuinely good. Dogstar is a real band with real chemistry, and they're playing rooms that are going to sell out fast. Tickets go on sale March 13. Don't wait on this one.
