'68 Calls It Quits With a Final Album and Farewell Tour

'68 is done. After 13 years of tearing through stages as one of the most unpredictable duos in heavy music, Josh Scogin and Nikko Yamada are pulling the plug. The band just announced their fifth and final studio album, They Are Survived, set for release on May 28, 2026. On top of that, they've mapped out a farewell tour that ends where it all started. Atlanta.

If you've been following this band since the beginning, you know how much ground they've covered. Scogin formed '68 back in December 2013, barely a week after his former band The Chariot played their final show. He launched the project with a two-song EP called Midnight and never really slowed down. Four albums deep, fusing noise rock, punk, and blues into something completely their own, the band built a loyal following by being impossible to pin down.

The Final Album

They Are Survived is the band's fifth full-length and it's being positioned as the definitive closing chapter. The first single, ALWAYS LOVE, is already streaming now, and honestly, it hits different knowing this is the last go-round. Pre-orders for the album are live if you want to lock that in ahead of the May 28 release.

For context, here's the full discography they're leaving behind: In Humor And Sadness (2014), Two Parts Viper (2018), Give One Take One (2021), Yes, and... (2023), and now They Are Survived (2026). Five records in 13 years. Every single one of them sounds like a band that refused to play it safe.

The Farewell Tour

The tour kicks off May 13 in Winter Park, Florida at Conduit and runs through June 20, wrapping up with the band's very last show at The Masquerade (Hell) in Atlanta. That final hometown show is going to be something special. I'd honestly be surprised if it doesn't sell out.

Here are some of the confirmed dates:

May 13 — Winter Park, FL @ Conduit (w/ Derek Zanetti)

May 22 — Philadelphia, PA @ The Foundry

May 26 — Toronto, ON @ The Horseshoe Tavern

May 27 — Buffalo, NY @ Rec Room

May 29 — Detroit, MI @ TSDMAAC (Catacombs)

June 6 — Denver, CO @ Marquis (w/ Nate Bergman)

June 10 — Portland, OR @ Dante's (w/ Nate Bergman)

June 20 — Atlanta, GA @ The Masquerade (Hell) FINAL SHOW

Select dates will feature special guests Derek Zanetti and Nate Bergman opening. Both are solid fits for this run.

What About Better Lovers?

I know what some of you are thinking. With '68 wrapping up, speculation immediately popped up online about whether Scogin might step into the vocalist role for Better Lovers. He actually addressed that himself in the comments of the farewell tour announcement and shut it down. So for now, don't read too much into it.

Don't Sleep on This

I'll be real, '68 live is a completely different experience than the records. Scogin plays like the stage owes him money. If you've ever wanted to catch them, this is genuinely your last chance. These are small, intimate venues too. That Masquerade finale is going to be unreal.

Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster and Bandsintown. Grab them before they're gone.
