Quicksand and Bane Are Hitting the Road Together This Summer

Quicksand and Bane touring together is one of those bills that just makes sense. Both bands came up in the same hardcore and post-hardcore world, and Bane have openly cited Walter Schreifels' work as an influence since day one. Now they're finally hitting the road together for a full North American run this summer, with Soul Blind opening up most dates. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 29 at 10 AM local time.

The tour kicks off August 3 in Norfolk, VA and runs through September 3 in Boston. That's 26 shows across the U.S. and Canada, hitting clubs and mid-size venues the entire way. This is the kind of routing where every single room is going to be packed and loud. You can grab tickets through Ticketmaster or check Quicksand's official site for links.

New Album Incoming

This tour is tied directly to Quicksand's new album Bring On The Psychics, which drops July 17 on Equal Vision Records. It's their first record in five years, following 2021's Distant Populations. The album was produced and mixed by Jon Markson, who's worked with Drug Church and Drain, and the singles so far, "Regenerate," "Get To It," and "Crystallize," have all been sounding sharp. Ten tracks total. Walter Schreifels, Sergio Vega, and Alan Cage continuing to push the sound forward.

If you know anything about Quicksand's history, you know these guys basically invented post-hardcore coming out of the New York scene in the early '90s. Members came from Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, and Burn. They put out two essential records in the '90s, Slip in 1993 and Manic Compression in 1995, broke up, reunited, and have been consistently delivering ever since. The post-reunion run of Interiors and Distant Populations proved they weren't coasting on nostalgia.

Why This Bill Rules

Bane are absolute legends in the hardcore scene. They started in 1995 out of Worcester, Massachusetts, originally as a side project with Aaron Dalbec of Converge. After releasing Don't Wait Up in 2014, billed as their final album, and playing what was supposed to be their last show in 2016 at the Worcester Palladium, they've slowly worked their way back into the fold. They did a benefit performance in 2021 honoring late member Brendan "Stu" Maguire and followed that up with reunion shows in Boston in 2023. Seeing them on a full run like this is a big deal.

I'll be real, Bane's reaction to this tour says everything. They posted on social media: "There is a strange parallel universe where you get to go on tour with the band you've looked up to since you started your own band. This is that universe, and we CAN NOT believe we're living in it." That's the energy you want to see going into a run like this.

Then you've got Soul Blind opening most of the dates. This Hudson Valley, New York band has been turning heads with their grungegaze sound, pulling from Hum, Deftones, and yes, Quicksand themselves. Their second album Red Sky Mourning dropped in October 2025 and they've been touring hard, sharing stages with Helmet and Drug Church. A natural fit for this lineup.

Don't Sleep on This

Honestly, this is one of the best lineups I've seen announced for a club run this year. Three bands that all connect back to the same roots, playing rooms where you're going to be right on top of the stage. Quicksand will also be doing some European festival dates before this leg, including Rock for People in Czechia and Nova Rock in Austria, so they'll be locked in by the time August rolls around.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 29 at 10 AM local time. These rooms are not massive. Some of them are going to sell out fast. If you've been waiting for the right Quicksand show to pull the trigger on, this is the one. Get your tickets here.
