The Aquabats Announce the Trick-or-Treat to the Beat! Halloween Tour

Cancel your Halloween plans, because The Aquabats just announced Trick-or-Treat to the Beat!, and it is exactly the kind of chaos you want in October. The Orange County superheroes are running an 11-date costume party across the West Coast all month, and yes, costumes are extremely encouraged. This is a Halloween freak out disguised as a concert, or maybe the other way around. Either way, wear the suit.

If you somehow need the introduction: The Aquabats are the masked, cape-wearing ska-punk institution led by the MC Bat Commander, the same crew behind the Emmy-winning kids show The Aquabats! Super Show. Their live sets are less concerts and more full-on interactive cartoons, all crowd surfing, foam, inflatable everything, and songs about monsters and pizza. For a Halloween tour, there is genuinely no better band on the planet for this.

The support rotates by region and it is a great mix of scene royalty: CJ Ramone and the Fast Movers open the first leg, Manic Hispanic and SULLVN cover the middle stretch, and Mariachi El Bronx and Mrs Magician round out the California run. Different night, different opener, same amount of mayhem.

The Cure Tribute Night

Here is the wild curveball. On October 10 at The Glass House in Pomona, The Aquabats are throwing a special Tribute to The Cure show, a completely separate goth-tinged night from the main tour. They are bringing HYAENA, a Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute, plus Poli Van Dam. Picture The Aquabats doing Robert Smith. If that sentence does not make you buy a ticket immediately, I do not know what to tell you.
