Ocean Grove are heading back out on their home turf this August, and they're not messing around with the lineup. The Melbourne trio just announced the Oddworld Underground Australian Tour, a six-date national run with Cane Hill as direct support, plus DEFICIT and Blinder rounding out the bill.

This one matters. Ocean Grove have been on an absolute tear internationally, supporting Thornhill across the UK and Europe in 2025, running direct support for Poppy on both Australian and international dates earlier this year, and picking up the Most Performed Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Work award at the 2026 APRA Music Awards for their single "RAINDROP." Now they're stepping back into domestic headline territory, and it feels like the right time.

Tour Dates

The Oddworld Underground tour hits six cities from mid to late August:

Thursday, August 13 – Amplifier Bar, Perth (18+)

Friday, August 14 – The Gov, Adelaide (Lic AA)

Saturday, August 15 – 170 Russell, Melbourne (18+)

Thursday, August 20 – Factory Theatre, Sydney (Lic AA)

Friday, August 21 – Hamilton Station Hotel, Newcastle (18+)

Saturday, August 22 – Princess Theatre, Brisbane (Lic AA)

The Support

Let's talk about Cane Hill for a second. The New Orleans metalcore outfit haven't touched Australian soil since 2016 when they came through supporting Bullet for My Valentine. That's a full decade. They dropped their third album A Piece of Me I Never Let You Find in November 2024, their first full-length since 2018, and it's widely considered their most personal work to date. Bringing them back to Australia as direct support is a seriously smart move.

DEFICIT are one of the most formidable rising acts coming out of the Sydney heavy scene right now. The Western Sydney hardcore crew, who've coined their sound "DEATHSTYLE," released their latest EP Deathstyle in November 2025 and have been building momentum through sold-out support runs with the likes of Alpha Wolf and Malevolence.

Rounding things out is Adelaide's Blinder, an alt-nu gaze ensemble blending shoegaze textures with crushing heaviness. Top to bottom, this is a bill that makes sense.

Why This Tour Hits Different

Ocean Grove have been self-producing their music from the jump. Dale Tanner, Twiggy Hunter, and Sam Bassal have built something genuinely their own, what they call "Oddworld Music," pulling from Korn, N.E.R.D, and Faith No More and funneling it into something you can't quite pin down. Their fourth album Oddworld, released in November 2024 through SharpTone Records, leaned into early 2000s grooves and sharp, concise songwriting across 10 tracks. They also launched their own label, Oddworld Records, in 2024. The trajectory has been relentless.

After stacking international runs and major support slots for the better part of two years, seeing them step back into headline mode on home soil feels like the payoff. If you've been tracking this band's rise, you already know. If you haven't, this is the one to start with.
