A 10,000-seat arena for a band that regularly packs 60,000-plus into stadiums. That's the kind of show you clear your schedule for. Metallica just announced two shows at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on November 19 and 21, 2026, and if you've ever wanted to see them in a room that actually feels close, this is your shot.

The shows celebrate the venue's 25th anniversary. Metallica joins a stacked list of artists who have played the arena over the years, including Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Lady Gaga, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Joel, and Beyoncé. Twenty-five years and over 3,000 events deep, the venue is getting a proper sendoff into its next chapter.

No Repeat Weekend, Two Killer Support Acts

If you're not familiar with the format by now, here's the deal. Metallica's No Repeat Weekend means two nights, two completely different setlists, zero songs repeated. They first introduced this concept on the M72 world tour, and it quickly became one of the best reasons to buy tickets for both nights. You're essentially getting two entirely different concerts.

Night one on November 19 brings Suicidal Tendencies as special guests. The band described them as their "tour buddies," and that connection runs deep. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo was a longtime member of Suicidal Tendencies before joining Metallica in 2003, so seeing these two bands share a stage always feels right.

Night two on November 21 brings in Spiritbox, who Metallica referred to as their "new friends." Honestly, that pairing makes a lot of sense. Spiritbox have been one of the biggest breakout heavy acts of the 2020s, and getting the co-sign from Metallica in a room this size is going to be a moment.

Where These Shows Fit in 2026

Metallica has a massive 2026 ahead. The band kicks off with European dates starting May 9 in Athens, Greece, running through early July. Then comes the big one. Their Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas begins in October, making them the first hard rock band to play that venue. That residency is set to run through March 2027 with 24 total performances, all continuing the No Repeat Weekend format.

The Mohegan Sun shows slot in right between the Sphere dates, giving East Coast fans a chance to catch the band without flying to Vegas. And I'll be real, seeing Metallica in a 10,000-seat room is a completely different experience than a stadium. You can actually feel the floor shake. These are the only non-Sphere U.S. shows on their 2026 calendar, so the demand is going to be insane.

All of this is still in support of 72 Seasons, their 2023 album and the M72 world tour cycle that has shown no signs of slowing down. The fact that they're still finding ways to keep it fresh with unique formats and venue choices says a lot about where this band is right now.

Don't Sleep on This

I'll be real. Metallica in an arena this size with either Suicidal Tendencies or Spiritbox opening is the kind of lineup that sells out before most people even hear about it. Two different nights, two different setlists, two completely different vibes with the support acts. If you can swing both nights, do it. If you can only pick one, just know you're going to wish you went to the other one too. Get your tickets the second they go live.
