L7 Announces The Last Hurrah, Their Final Tour Ever

L7 is done. Well, almost done. The band just announced The Last Hurrah Tour, their final world tour after four decades of some of the most uncompromising rock and roll to ever come out of Los Angeles. The first U.S. leg kicks off October 9 in Phoenix, hits over 25 cities, and wraps November 14 with a hometown show at The Wiltern in LA. If you've been meaning to catch them live, this is the last call.
Presales start tomorrow, May 8, at 10 a.m. local time. General on-sale is May 11 at 10 a.m. local. Grab tickets through Ticketmaster or Live Nation.
Donita Sparks on What This Tour Means
Guitarist and vocalist Donita Sparks put it perfectly. She said when L7 released their documentary in 2015, the plan was maybe one victory lap. Instead, that lap turned into eleven more years of touring, new music, and reconnecting with the fans who made it all possible. She talked about looking out into crowds and seeing longtime supporters rocking out next to a whole new generation of L7 fans, calling it "the most powerful and humbling part of this chapter."
"We are deeply grateful and ready to give our audiences one last, loud, fun, and hopefully unforgettable night of rock and roll," Sparks added. Honestly, if you know anything about L7 live, "unforgettable" is an understatement.
Summer Dates with Amyl and the Sniffers
Before the headlining run even starts, L7 has a handful of summer dates that are worth paying attention to. They're playing with Amyl and the Sniffers at three shows, including Red Rocks on June 17. That's a bucket list pairing at a bucket list venue.
There's also an August 29 date at Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA with support from Acid Bath, Twin Tribes, Nebula, and Early Moods. That lineup alone is worth showing up for. And they'll hit Sjock Festival in Belgium on July 12 for the international fans.
Spring/Summer 2026:
June 4 – Toronto, ON @ RBC Amphitheatre (w/ Amyl and the Sniffers)
June 5 – Montreal, QC @ Place Bell (w/ Amyl and the Sniffers)
June 17 – Morrison, CO @ Red Rocks Amphitheatre (w/ Amyl and the Sniffers)

The Fall Headlining Run
This is the main event. The headlining leg starts October 9 in Phoenix and winds through Texas, the Southeast, up the East Coast, across the Midwest, and back west to close it all out in LA. These are mostly smaller, intimate venues. Places like Emo's in Austin, Heaven at The Masquerade in Atlanta, The Showbox in Seattle. That's how you want to see L7 for the last time. Up close. Loud.
I'll be real, the Halloween show at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit is calling my name. And that November 14 Wiltern date in LA is going to be something special. Hometown send-off for a band that helped define what Los Angeles punk and grunge could sound like.

Four Decades of Not Playing It Safe
For anyone newer to the band, here's the short version. L7 was formed in 1985 by Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner in Los Angeles. They came up through the LA punk and art scene, eventually landing on a sound that fused punk, grunge, and heavy melody in a way nobody else was doing. Dee Plakas on drums and Jennifer Finch on bass rounded out the lineup that most people know and love.
Their 1992 album Bricks Are Heavy, produced by Butch Vig, is still considered one of the defining records of that early '90s explosion. The single Pretend We're Dead was everywhere. MTV, radio, you name it. If you haven't heard it, go fix that immediately.
Beyond the music, L7 co-founded Rock for Choice in 1991, producing benefit concerts with acts ranging from Joan Jett to Nirvana. Their influence on bands like Bikini Kill, Garbage, and Hole is well documented. They helped pave the way and never asked for credit.
The Reunion That Became a Second Act
The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2001. For a while, it looked like that was it. Then in 2015, a Kickstarter-funded documentary called L7: Pretend We're Dead sparked a full reunion. Fans pledged over $130,000 to make the film happen, and the band got back together for what was supposed to be a quick run of shows. Those shows sold out. The crowds were massive. A new generation showed up alongside the lifers.
That momentum led to Scatter the Rats, their seventh studio album and first in 20 years, released in May 2019 on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records. Sparks has said new music was never part of the plan. They just realized they still had things to say and that playing rock was fun again. That's the most L7 reason to make a record I've ever heard.
Don't Sleep on This
I'll say it plainly. This is the end. L7 has been at it for over 40 years. They reunited when nobody expected them to, put out a record that proved they still had it, and toured longer than anyone thought they would. Now they're giving you one more chance to be in the room.
These venues will sell out. A lot of them are smaller rooms and that's intentional. Presales go live tomorrow, May 8, at 10 a.m. local time, and general sale starts May 11. Hit up Ticketmaster or check the L7 official site for all the details. Don't wait on this one.
