Franz Ferdinand are coming to the US this summer, and it's not just a handful of festival slots. The Scottish indie legends just dropped a full headlining run across the States kicking off August 2nd in Buffalo and wrapping up August 15th in Dallas. If you've been waiting for a proper Franz Ferdinand headline show in your city, this might be your shot.

The tour covers a solid mix of markets. We're talking Buffalo, Albany, Boston, New Haven, Huntington, Charlotte, Atlanta, Austin, and Dallas over two weeks. These are all mid-size venues too, places like Citizens House of Blues Boston, Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, and Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. The kind of rooms where you're actually close to the stage and the energy is going to be insane.

The Full US Tour Dates

Here's every US date on the summer run:

August 1 — Montreal, QC @ Osheaga Festival

August 2 — Buffalo, NY @ Electric City

August 4 — Albany, NY @ Empire Live

August 5 — Boston, MA @ Citizens House of Blues Boston

August 7 — New Haven, CT @ College Street Music Hall

August 8 — Huntington, NY @ The Paramount

August 9 — Queens, NY @ Citi Field (supporting My Chemical Romance)

August 11 — Charlotte, NC @ Neighborhood Theatre

August 12 — Atlanta, GA @ Buckhead Theatre

August 14 — Austin, TX @ Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater

August 15 — Dallas, TX @ House of Blues Dallas

That Citi Field Date Though

I'll be real, the August 9th date is the one that jumps off the page. Franz Ferdinand supporting My Chemical Romance at Citi Field in Queens is a pairing that might look unexpected on paper, but honestly it makes a ton of sense. Both bands came up in that mid-2000s era where indie rock and post-punk were colliding with everything else on the radio. Seeing them share a stage at an arena that size is going to be something special.

Riding the Momentum of The Human Fear

This tour comes on the heels of The Human Fear, the band's sixth studio album that dropped in January 2025. The record was produced by Mark Ralph, who also worked with them on Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action back in 2013, and it hit number three on the UK Albums Chart. The current lineup features guitarist Dino Bardot and drummer Audrey Tait alongside Alex Kapranos and Bob Hardy, and from everything I've heard, the live show with this version of the band has been firing on all cylinders.

Before they get to the US, Franz Ferdinand have a massive European tour running through March, April, and into the summer festival circuit. They're playing Paris, Munich, Berlin, Brussels, Naples, and a bunch of other cities. So by the time they land in the States this August, they'll be deep into tour mode and tight as ever.

How to Get Tickets

Here's what you need to know. The fan presale starts Tuesday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time. If you miss that, there's a Live Nation presale for All Access members on Thursday, March 12th at 10:00 a.m. local time. General on-sale for everyone goes live Friday, March 13th at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.

These are smaller, more intimate venues for a band that could easily be playing bigger rooms. Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte holds like 1,000 people. Buckhead Theatre isn't much bigger. If you haven't seen Franz Ferdinand live yet, this is the kind of tour where you don't want to hesitate. These rooms are going to sell out.

Set your alarms for the presale on Tuesday. Don't sleep on this one.
