It’s dirty, it’s grimey and it’s a banger. Wage War have probably released one of the heaviest tracks this year with their new single “SONG OF THE SWAMP”. This song is going to be a part of their new EP IT CALLS ME BY NAME set to be released April 17th via Fearless Records.

After a successful run with their 2024 album, STIGMA, Wage War began teasing new music by clearing out their social media and playing a small clip of a new song. Over the course of the week, the band has been teasing small clips of this song and the accompanying music video. Now the wait is officially over and the new song is out for the world to hear. “SONG OF THE SWAMP” gives essence of old school Wage War like from their work done on their album Blueprints but blending some of the heavy breakdowns that they incorporated in their album STIGMA. This song is definitely one of those songs that are high speed but has a dirty swamp feel with those grimey guitar riffs and hard hitting drums. With the added synths to give the sound of bugs in the swamp really gives the listener the feel of being deep in swamps. The tempo change throughout the song makes it probably one the heaviest songs Wage War has ever released. Now going into the vocals, they are absolutely amazing. Briton Bond’s vocals are unmatched. The deep growls give the song such a dark feel and with the added fry scream it’s just perfection. Personally my favorite part of hearing the song is the switch they do at the end of the song with a movie like monologue and switching that tempo to have a heavy guitar and bass feel is classic Wage War.

The accompanying music video features the swamps of Florida with the band performing on wooden rafters showing different aspects of the swamp grounds and a special guest, an actual alligator living its best life in its swampy home. Wage War are expressing how much their home state of Florida will be heavily involved in this EP and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the tracks.

Definitely check out “SONG OF THE SWAMP” out now and watch out for even more news about Wage War tomorrow.
