The District summer live series Kcal Rocks 96.7 with Nu Skool,Rain Brings Weather,Whispers Of Torment, and Outcomes

The District in Redlands is the place to be Thursday nights! They have teamed up with Kcal rocks wired in the empire , Mike Z and Breaking Serenity Promotions to bring you the summer live series. Free shows with amazing tribute bands and local support. I had the pleasure of being a part of the first night with Nu Skool(tribute to numetal), Rain Brings Weather, Whispers of Torment and Outcomes.
Outcomes started the night with high energy and crushing vocals. Being the opener is not an easy task, but they drew people in and got them moving. They set the bar high for the rest of the night.
Whispers of Torment have quickly become one of my favorite heavier bands in the IE. This was my 3rd time seeing them live and they never disappoint. The interaction between band members keeps you entertained while the music makes it impossible to stand still.
Next up was the moment we were all waiting for, Nu Skool tribute to numetal. The nostalgia is real with these guys. The entire set is one song after another that will have you dancing and screaming your lungs out. I swear during System of a Down the crowd was louder than the band! The costume changes between one artist to another is insane, but I especially loved the costumes for Bloodhound Gang. The crowd interaction for their set was intense, if you are looking to be a part of the show this is the band for you. At one point there were more people on the stage than in the pit.
Just when you thought the night couldn't be any better, Rain Brings Weather hit the stage to close out the night. The room filled back in and their music hit with some of the deepest lyrics I've heard in a while. Rain Brings Weather will take you from moshing your heart out to worshipping in a bar and you'll have no idea how they managed that. The groovy bass lines and hard pounding drums had everyone dancing well past their set time and we didn't mind at all. There is a special moment in every Rain Brings Weather set where the lead singer takes a moment to address the crowd. He reminds them that they are loved and they are never alone in this world, he offers to anyone in need of support to reach out directly to the band and they will be a shoulder to lean on. This is what music is all about, supporting one another, and there couldn't have been a more beautiful ending to the night.
I’m a sucker for intimate shows in smaller venues. The District definitely delivers that! You can't beat free entry and drink specials all night. Grab your friends and head to redlands for the summer live series brought to you by Kcal rocks 96.7
