Kittie Celebrates Three Decades of Chaos on the Legacy of Fire Tour at House of Blues Anaheim
Thirty years after first exploding onto the metal scene, Kittie proved they still know how to ignite a room. Their Legacy of Fire Tour: 30 Years of Kittie stopped at House of Blues Anaheim on June 12, 2026 with Kingdom of Giants and GORE opening the evening, delivering a modern heavy metal bill.

By the time doors opened, fans of every age had packed the venue. Veterans who grew up with Spitstood shoulder-to-shoulder with younger fans seeing Kittie for the first time.

Texas newcomers GORE wasted no time making an impression. Vocalist Haley Roughton emerged wearing a black wedding dress covered in vines and flowers before launching into "Wrath," immediately showcasing the band's contrast between haunting melody and crushing heaviness. One moment her voice floated over atmospheric guitars; the next, she dropped into guttural growls that shook the room.

Formed in 2023, GORE blends metalcore with hints of R&B and shoegaze, creating something both atmospheric and punishing.

Watching Roughton two-step and mosh in a wedding dress across the stage was unforgettable, but the night's most surprising trivia came offstage. She's also a NASA aerospace engineer. After hearing vocals that felt like they drifted into orbit before crashing back down, it made perfect sense. Definitely one to watch.

Kingdom of Giants kept the momentum going, shifted the night into metalcore territory with "Asphalt" from their Bleeding Star EP.

Vocalist Dana Willax and bassist JT Gutierrez demonstrated chemistry, trading screams for soaring clean melodies. Gutierrez, newly added to the lineup, looked fully locked in as the band ran through fan favorites including "Smoke," "Digital Hell," "Wayfinder," and the live debut of “Respawn."

Then the lights dropped.

The roar for Kittie was deafening. The opening notes of "Fire" erupted through the venue. The floor was in motion. The crowd pushed forward, jumped, and screamed every word. Morgan Lander cut through the chaos with ease, shifting between melodic passages and ripping screams.

After a thirteen-year hiatus, Kittie returned in 2024 with Fire. Having missing their return at Sick New World, seeing them on this tour felt like the payoff. With Mercedes Lander on drums, guitarist Tara McLeod, and bassist Rachel G, the band delivered a career-spanning set that honored three decades of music while showcasing their newest material.

Longtime fans were rewarded with staples like "Cut Throat," "Charlotte," "Suck," and the encore favorite "Brackish." Every chorus turned into a singalong, every breakdown brought another wave of crowd surfers. At times, the pit spilled into brief chaos before House of Blues security stepped in to quickly restore order without breaking the momentum.

After 30 years, Kittie could have easily built a set around nostalgia. Instead, they gave plenty of time to songs from Fire, proving their newest material belongs right alongside the classics.
