Evanescence Are Back with a New Song & New Album

Rock legends Evanescence are back with new music! The band recently released their brand new single “Who Will You Follow” and announced their brand new album Sanctuary set to be released June 5th.

It’s been a few years since Evanescence have released new music. They recently released their single “Afterlife” in collaboration with Netflix’s Devil May Cry series which will also be included in the new album. Evanescence has been teasing for the past few months that they have been working on new music, but they never really gave nothing more than that. This past week they started teasing a clip of the new song on their socials giving all the fans a taste of what they have been working on the past few years. Recently, Amy Lee was on KROQ and announced that they are releasing a new album, Sanctuary, set to be released June 5th with “Who Will You Follow” being the first single off the album.

When I finally got the opportunity to hear the new single, I was immediately enthralled with Amy Lee’s voice. Her vocals are hands down one of my absolute favorites. The control she has to be able to hit those high notes and create such beautiful texture with her voice is insane. The music itself brings us back to classic Evanescence with a piano intro/outro and building up to the heavy guitars and drums they are known for. This song has a darker feel but still keeps it very modern rock like a sound that was introduced in their single “Afterlife”. The emotion behind each lyric just adds a depth to the song that is just a signature to the Evanescence sound. Lyrically this song, channels the long awaited return of Evanescence makes it feel so cathartic.

Evanescence are true blazers in this industry. Creating music that brings people together with a message that using your voice will bring change to the world.
