Aftershock 2026 Drops a Massive Lineup With MCR, Tool, Limp Bizkit and Pierce The Veil

Aftershock just dropped their 2026 lineup and honestly, this might be their best one yet. The West Coast's largest rock, punk, and metal festival is returning to Discovery Park in Sacramento from October 1 to 4 with over 115 bands across four stages. The headliners alone are enough to sell this thing out.
My Chemical Romance, Tool, Limp Bizkit, and Pierce The Veil are topping the bill this year. And the undercard? Stacked from top to bottom. We're talking The Offspring, Queens Of The Stone Age, Babymetal, A Day To Remember, AFI, Slaughter To Prevail, Cypress Hill, and a whole lot more.
20 Years of The Black Parade
The big story here is My Chemical Romance celebrating 20 years of The Black Parade. That album originally dropped on October 23, 2006, and it completely reshaped the landscape of emo and alternative music. It's widely regarded as one of the most important albums the genre has ever produced, and its influence on alternative culture, fashion, and the sound of bands that came after is hard to overstate. Getting to see MCR perform that record in a festival setting like this is going to be something special.
And then there's Pierce The Veil making their headlining debut at Aftershock. That's a massive moment for them and for the scene. They've put in the work for years and seeing them top a bill this size feels earned.
Farewell Sets and Anniversary Celebrations
This year's Aftershock is loaded with sets that carry some extra weight. Wu-Tang Clan will be appearing as part of their Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber farewell tour. That name has a lot of people wondering if this is truly it for the legendary hip-hop group. The tour features the surviving members including RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and more, alongside Ol' Dirty Bastard's son, Young Dirty Bastard. If you've never seen them live, this might be your last chance.
The Cavalera brothers, Max and Iggor, are celebrating 30 years of Sepultura's classic album Roots. Drowning Pool will also be marking 25 years of their platinum-selling debut Sinner. This lineup isn't just big names. It's big moments.
A New Era for Aftershock
Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents put it pretty well: "This year's Aftershock marks a bold new chapter for the festival. We've brought together metal, punk, emo, and nu metal to create a lineup that's raw, youthful, and unapologetic." He also pointed to Pierce The Veil's headlining debut and Tool anchoring the weekend as signs that the festival is pushing into new territory.
One of the biggest additions this year is camping. After years of fan requests, Aftershock is finally introducing camping packages. You can set up at Cal Expo with car and tent or RV options, and there's a shuttle service with re-entry access back to the festival grounds. That's a game changer for people who travel in for the full four days.
Aftershock started as a single-day event back in 2012 with Stone Temple Pilots headlining. It expanded to two days in 2013, then three in 2019, and hit the four-day format in 2021. Last year's edition brought in over 160,000 fans from all 50 states and more than 30 countries. It's not a small festival anymore. It's one of the biggest rock events on the West Coast, period.
Tickets and Info
Four-day and single-day tickets are on sale now, with VIP upgrades, Capital Club SVIP, and the new camping packages all available. There's also a Park & Ride shuttle option from Cal Expo that includes free parking and a nonstop shuttle straight to the festival site. The event is all ages, which is always a plus.
If you're active military, a nurse, firefighter, or police, GOVX has exclusively-priced passes available too. Head to aftershockfestival.com for the full lineup, day splits when they drop, and all the ticket options. Don't sleep on this one. A lineup like this at a festival that keeps getting better every year is not something you want to miss.
