Warehouse 9 to Open Doors in San Pedro

San Pedro is all about community and spaces that bring people together. The former Brouwerij West is being reborn as something new that everyone in town and around might just really dig. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., life will pump back into those walls and showcase live music, local food, art, and more, welcoming the community back and giving people a real San Pedro place to be themselves and enjoy.
When we think of grand openings, I am sure some of us imagine something a little too commercial and perhaps not so personal. But this is different. This plot is not only built on history, it keeps its carefully tended walls of originality surrounded by the community aspect San Pedro is all about. Think about the shoes Warehouse 9 is stepping into. They are historic, grand, and ready to be revived once again with real intention. It will be an all ages hot spot with indoor and outdoor spaces filled with food, music, and a gathering of both new and familiar friendly faces. With Chain closing down nearby, spaces like this need to be emerging. Let us bring back that community feel that makes places like this a second home.
With pride in the area it is planted in, we can expect the roots of the grand opening festivities to stay close to home. Killer Dreamer brings a punk rock edge that reflects the local sound, Warehouse One delivers good old Cali reggae grooves that keep the vibe low and chill, and Ivy League Suit blends melodic moments with raw punk energy to round out the bill. DJ Wix, another San Pedro favorite, will also be there spinning throughout the day and keeping everything moving. Your ears will be filled with variety and sound from start to finish.
I love music, that is clear, but a close second is food. Neighborhood favorites will be providing plenty of options during the event. Think wood fired pizza from Miller Butler, smoky barbecue from Shady Grove Foods, a Wetzels pretzel for an appetizer, and DipDeez ice cream for dessert. Just be careful, one drop and someone’s dog might scoop it up before you do. Yes, furry friends are welcome. Humans of all ages, dogs, and free parking are all part of the deal.
Do not even think about leaving without checking out next door. CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering even more to explore. Inside Warehouse 10, more than 90 local vendors will be set up showcasing handmade goods, art, and walk up workshops that continue every weekend. Families can also expect face painting and creative activities for kids throughout the day. There is truly something for everyone and no sad faces here.
Adding to the local flavor, San Pedro based screen printer Calimucho will be live printing Warehouse 9 gear on site, giving guests the chance to choose their merch and watch it come to life right in front of them.
At the bar, guests can sample a carefully curated selection of craft beverages, including can pours from Town Cider, Ashland Hard Seltzer, and Boochcraft Hard Kombucha. A certified cicerone will be on staff to help guide guests through the offerings and shape the bar’s evolving beer program. Down the road, Warehouse 9 plans to expand from 14 to 28 taps, introduce more international and domestic beers, and add non alcoholic cocktails to the mix.
For owner Oron Kotlizky, reopening the space with the community at the center was non negotiable.
“We know people love hanging out at this unique location, and it is important to us to continue serving San Pedro in this way. We have rehired the BW staff and managers, so the community will recognize some familiar faces behind the bar and throughout the venue. Your support means the world to us, and we cannot wait to welcome you in for a drink.” – Kotlizky
Looking ahead, Warehouse 9 is already building a weekly rhythm, with King Trivia launching Wednesdays starting February 4 and karaoke nights on Thursdays hosted by DJ Wix. Like its predecessor, the venue will also partner with MBF Productions to keep the calendar full of live music and special events throughout the year. It is literally a vibe. I cannot wait to review shows here one day and share that energy with all of you.
RSVPs are required for the grand opening, with a maximum of six tickets per order. Doors open at 11 a.m. and festivities roll on until 6 p.m. The link below will take you straight to where you can RSVP.
At its core, Warehouse 9’s grand opening is a celebration of familiar faces, local talent, and a space that once again belongs to the people who show up for it. If you have missed having a place to gather under the San Pedro sky, this is your sign to come hang and give the new space a warm welcome.
