The Rasmus Announces Their First-Ever North American Headlining Tour

The Rasmus have been around since 1994. Over three decades of making records, touring the world, and racking up over five million albums sold. But here's the thing. They've never headlined North America. That changes this fall.
The Finnish rock band just announced a 27-date headlining tour across the United States and Canada, kicking off September 6 at Bottom Lounge in Chicago and wrapping up October 12 at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles. Saint Agnes and Death Valley Dreams will be opening every night.
If you know The Rasmus, you probably know "In the Shadows." That 2003 single off Dead Letters was everywhere. Platinum certifications, gold records, an MTV Europe VMA, Finnish EMMAs. These guys have been major players in rock for a long time. But North American fans have always gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to seeing them live. The band's appearances on this side of the Atlantic have been rare, and their last proper U.S. run before this year was nearly two decades ago.
That started to change in spring 2026 when they joined The HU and Apocalyptica on a co-headlining U.S. tour as special guests, running from May 12 through June 7. Now they're back for their own headline run, and honestly, it's about time.
Frontman Lauri Ylönen put it best: "It feels surreal that after all these years, we finally get to play our first-ever headline tour in the U.S. We have super devoted fans who some have been waiting over 20 years to see us live. These shows will be loaded with emotion and fierce energy."

The Support
The opening lineup on this tour is genuinely interesting. Saint Agnes are a London-based rock outfit fronted by Kitty A. Austen, and they've built a reputation for chaotic, dark, hypnotic live shows across the UK and Europe. They've got over 12 million Spotify streams, BBC Radio 1 support, and a brand new album called Your God Fearing Days Are About to Begin out in 2026 via Spinefarm. They also played SXSW earlier this year. If you haven't heard them yet, do yourself a favor before this tour hits your city.
Death Valley Dreams round out the bill as an indie alternative/synth rock act originally from Pennsylvania. They bring a moody, atmospheric sound built on haunting melodies and synth-driven arrangements. They're also performing at Louder Than Life Festival on September 17, which lines up with The Rasmus's Louisville date on this run.
Riding the Weirdo Wave
This tour comes in support of Weirdo, the band's eleventh studio album, which dropped September 12, 2025 via Better Noise Music. It's the group's first release on the label, and the production credits are stacked. Lauri Ylönen co-wrote most of the record with Desmond Child and Marti Fredriksen in Folegandros, Greece, then the full band recorded at Fredriksen's Sienna Studios in Nashville. Additional production from Joseph McQueen adds a fresh punch to tracks like "Creatures of Chaos" and "Break These Chains."
I'll be real, the album's message is one that hits. Ylönen said it best: "I find it comforting that our eleventh album, Weirdo, has pretty much the same message as on our first album released in 1996. It is to defend and praise the ones who are different from the masses and proudly being themselves as they are." Three decades of championing the outsiders. That's consistency.
What Comes After
North America is just the beginning. After the October 12 closer in LA, The Rasmus heads to Latin America for a headlining trek through November, then kicks off 2027 with a European headline run starting January 28 and wrapping March 20. They're going everywhere.
