Twin Tribes Turn The Wiltern Into a Gothic Fever Dream

The Texas duo delivered pulsing synths, deep devotion, and a surprise Caifanes cover in a night soaked in leather, smoke, and dance.

On June 22, the Wiltern was swallowed by shadows — and we liked it that way. Darkwave duo Twin Tribes transformed the historic Los Angeles venue into a sea of black and leather, leaving a sea of sweat-slicked goths dancing away the night. The moment you stepped through the doors, it felt like slipping into another realm — one ruled by white foundation, jet-black eyeliner and gravity-defying hair. This wasn’t just a concert; it was a Twin Tribes communion.

The evening kicked off with a DJ set from Los Goths, who also hosted the night’s proceedings, followed by a stacked supporting lineup: Soft Vein (gallery), Forever Grey (gallery), and TRAITRS (gallery), each act cloaked in fog and synths, priming the crowd with hypnotic, bass-heavy rhythms.

By the time Twin Tribes emerged, the Wiltern floor was packed wall to wall — not with moshing, but with movement. Devout fans filed the sections but left just enough room for multiple dance circles.

The duo wasted no time igniting the room, launching into “Shadows,” which sent the crowd into instant motion. Live, their music hit with even more beauty — transforming from headphone hauntings to full-bodied, tactile experiences. Songs like “Heart and Feather” pulsed through the walls, while their surprise cover of La Unión’s “Lobo Hombre en París” gave the night a sense of nostalgia.

They closed their main set with “Fantasmas,”luckily for us however, this wasn’t their final act. In a moment of pure theatrical return, Twin Tribes reemerged for an encore that began with a curveball: a searing take on Caifanes’ “Mátenme Porque Me Muero” that no one saw coming — and which felt like a torch passed across generations of Latin dark rock. They capped the night with “Monolith,” sending us all back into the night with full hearts.

For one black-clad night, the Wiltern wasn’t just a venue. It was a cathedral of shadows, and Twin Tribes were its high priests.
