The Birthday Massacre at the Fonda Theater

Ideally, if the word "massacre" is anywhere in a band's name, you might think brutal and intimidating music created by equally terrifying people that might enjoy scaring others. Throwing in "birthday" in front of that word may not help either. But The Birthday Massacre is far from the stereotypical concept and misunderstood truth behind most, if not all, bands associated with the rock/metal genre and its subcategories. TBM is such a fun and refreshingly goofy band that clearly showcases the bond between its members. Every single one of them laughed at some point or made silly faces all while performing songs that spoke of topics like uncertain identity, corrupted innocence, and escapism. TBM definitely knows how to balance their quirkier personalities with their innermost darkest thoughts.
