Purity Ring at Observatory North Park
November 11th, the night I had been anticipating for weeks. Purity Ring, one of the artists from my childhood that influenced my music taste forever, played at the Observatory North Park that night. Purity Ring has a 2012 witch house sound you can't recreate without Megan James' beautiful voice. Her pure tone emits such a positive feeling in their music, so it's not too dark and witchy. They are truly the embodiment of positive, ethereal energy.

As I walked into the venue, I was given a black mask. The bright eyed person who gave me the mask proudly stated, "The band requested the crowd wear these." The crowd was filled with fellow electronic music lovers, some wearing ODESZA shirts and even Flume shirts!

When I was standing by the stage, waiting for the show to start, these fan looking objects started spinning and lighting up. I immediately knew they were holograms. The photographers walked up to the photo pit and excitedly got ready to shoot.

I adjusted my settings as needed. A lower shutter speed worked like magic! I was thankfully able to capture the true essence of this show and how it would look to the human eye. Through my lens, you'll find the most accurate portrayal of the special effects used by these fairy-like musicians. I have never seen such beautiful special effects.

Overall, I enjoyed the show and can't wait to see these beautiful people on tour again.
