Lacuna Coil Bring Gothic Duality to Los Angeles at The Bellwether
Italy's Lacuna Coil brought their Sleepless Empire Tour to The Bellwether in Los Angeles on April 10, 2026 with Escape the Fate and VOWWS opening the night, moving through atmosphere, contrast, and heavy melodic shifts.
VOWWS
VOWWS opened with a dark, mood-heavy set that reshaped the room's atmosphere. The Australian death pop duo leaned into gothic lighting and minimal movement, creating a cold, cinematic feel that resembled a vampire club more than a concert space. Arezo Rizz Khanjani handled vocals and keyboards while Matthew Matt James Campbell split vocals and guitar, focusing on texture, and tone.
Escape the Fate
Escape the Fate followed with a sharp, high-energy set that kept the momentum moving. They delivered a performance that continues to get stronger with each show. Midway through the set, Craig Mabbitt celebrated his birthday on stage. His wife brought out a cake and the crowd sang along before the band jumped back into the set without losing pace.
Lacuna Coil
The Bellwether exploded the moment Lacuna Coil stepped on stage. All the way from Milan, they came out to a packed room already locked in, and the shift in energy was immediate.
Cristina Scabbia's voice rose above the mix, clean and controlled, carrying an angelic tone that hovered over the room. Andrea Ferro answered from deep below with raw, guttural force that felt like it hit the floor before it filled the speakers. The two voices kept colliding all set, one lifting the room up while the other dragged it back down, pulling everyone deeper into it.
The band stayed tight behind them, guitars slicing through the room while the rhythms kept everything steady and heavy. The set never stayed in one place for long moving between melody and brutality without losing momentum. The crowd stayed locked in through all of it, and the energy never dropped from start to finish.
