Killswitch Engage Deliver A Night Of Metalcore Madness In Las Vegas
Killswitch Engage made their return back to Las Vegas, bringing with them a stacked line up of some of the best metal Texas has to offer. On tour in support of their recent album, This Consequence, they were joined by supporting actsĀ Frozen Soul, Fit For A King, and Kublai Khan TX. Fans packed into the sold out arena, The Theater at the Virgin Hotel, and the energy was high in anticipation for the night to come.

Starting things off, Frozen Soul took to the stage and immediately pummeled the audienceĀ with crushing guitar riffs and low gutturals, perfectly encapsulating that old school death metal sound.

Heads were banging and moshers were getting the crowd moving until the end of their set.Ā

Fit For A King was up next and kept the energy going. They brought a blend of heavy pummeling breakdowns and dynamic melodies.

Bassist Ryan O'Leary was the stand out, as he would leap across the stage and windmill his instrument around his body.

Following them was Kublai Khan TX. Vocalist Matt Honeycutt quickly took command of the stage, calling for aggression from the crowd.

Unleashing a barrage of crushing yet groove filled riffs and Matt's bark-like call outs, the crowd was in complete chaos as circle pits began to grow and crowd surfers flew over the barricade.

Up next were the headlining act, Killswitch Engage. As the lights dimmed and the band began to walk on stage one by one, the crowd let out immense waves of cheers for each member. Their set consistedĀ of a vast range of songs from their long catalog, from old nostalgic classics such as "My Curse" and "The End of Heartache" to songs from their latest record, such as "I Believe" and "Collusion."

A special highlight of the night was the moment vocalist Jesse Leach took a break in between songs in order to speak to the crowd and introduce the next song. He mentioned that there was a guest feature on this track. At the mere mention of this, the crowd exploded into cheers as previous vocalist Howard Jones walked onstage. A quick wave into the crowd and they launched into their songĀ "The Signal Fire." This was truly a sight to behold as these two iconic vocalists shared the stage together.

As the night drew to a close, the band played their final song, "My Last Serenade," a fitting end to an incredible night filled with brutal breakdowns and massive mosh pits.Ā Having been a band now for 26 years, Killswitch Engage proved they are still at the top of their game. Every band on this line up brought their very best, leaving a lasting impression on theĀ Las Vegas crowd.
