Harry Styles is Back with ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.’

Harry Styles really does keep us on our toes! First it was “Sign of the Times,” then acting, then secretly running a marathon in under three hours, and now, after a long period of anticipation, Styles drops Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. His fourth studio album is exactly what you would hope for from someone who is totally fearless and passionate to surprise fans. It includes dancefloor ready hits, a dreamy quality that makes the glitter feel just a little out of focus, and nostalgic grooves that somehow feel both super radiant without leaving out the reflective parts. It is the kind of album that makes you feel like you are in a club, even though you are probably just vibing with your headphones.
After winning Album of the Year at the Grammys in 2023 with Harry’s House, Styles stepped back for a bit of rest and relaxation, R&R if you will. He escaped to Italy, hung out in Berlin’s club scene at Berghain, and basically lived the life of a pop star completing secret side quests. Love that for him. Life is all about balance, right?
But what is so cool about that break is that you can actually hear it in this record. Romantic, feeling-free, sorta playful, everything Styles excels at capturing is here.
“If you must join a movement, make sure there’s dancing.”
That line captures Styles in a petite nutshell, a lyric from Are You Listening Yet? The hype around this artist is absolutely earned!
Styles’ solo career has been a pretty steady climb: Harry Styles in 2017, Fine Line in 2019, and Harry’s House in 2022. Each album made an expansion in his sound while keeping that usual pop feel. After finishing Love On Tour in 2023, Styles had hinted at a fourth album and then spent the following months recording in London with longtime collaborator Kid Harpoon. Gasp at the way this record just makes you want to move!
The lead single, Aperture, totally set the tone. Six minutes of twinkles in synth, reflective lyrics, and a not-surprising disco leaning vibe that basically says get your groove on but do not forget to use that emotion of yours. From there the album hits like a night out with Styles as your very own personal DJ. Breezy tracks like American Girls, funky disco moments like Dance No More, introspective songs like Paint by Numbers and Season 2 Weight Loss, and cinematic touches like Coming Up Roses. It is not just a bunch of songs, which I am very grateful for, it is a full aesthetic, a full on VIBE. A story told through beats, synths, and a little bit of Styles magic. It is hard to put my finger on it, but Styles’ music always carries this sense of poise and uniqueness that is just impossible to ignore.
"My favorite thing about the song is, like, it feels like a song." -Fan on YouTube
For example, The Waiting Game gives me visuals of cozy sunshine and cool breezes with those echoing vocals. Somehow the song feels like a temperature. I do not know how music does that, but this one feels warm. It is more quirky than my usual taste, but it still fits in just right. I can totally imagine myself playing Animal Crossing to this. That does not mean this album is just subtle background noise though, not at all! It is also an album meant to be digested, with meanings that go deeper than the surface of its sonic cover.
The American Girls music video is a perfect example. The visual leans into a cinematic and slightly chaotic concept, showing Styles on what appears to be a massive action movie set. Throughout the video he jumps between high intensity stunt scenes, motorcycles, car chases, explosions, and the kind of dramatic sequences you would expect from a blockbuster film. At the same time the production crew, stunt doubles, and carefully controlled set pieces are visible, creating a playful contrast between the fantasy of spectacle and the maybe not so glamorous reality behind it. It almost feels like a subtle nod to how much of the larger than life pop star image is carefully constructed.
The visuals are fascinating, but that is only the first layer. There is definitely more to unpack here. Even though the song has that upbeat, windows down energy, Harry Styles has explained that American Girls actually comes from a much more personal and reflective place. Watching several of his closest friends get married made Styles start thinking deeply about his own life and what fulfillment really looks like. While he joked that being single can seem like the more exciting option on paper, seeing his friends commit to someone showed him that there is a different kind of magic in building a life with the right person, even when that vulnerability comes with uncertainty and risk. Something a lot of us can relate to.
That realization led Styles to step back and think about what he wants long term. With a career that constantly keeps him moving, touring, and surrounded by noise, he admitted it can be difficult to create the space needed to figure out what truly matters. Taking time away gave Styles the chance to look at life from a diff perspective and ask himself what kind of future he actually wants. Whether that includes things like stronger relationships, meaningful friendships, or eventually even a family (I feel that fr fr). For Styles, the idea of partnership is not just about romance either. He has spoken about wanting someone who challenges him and holds him accountable to the person he hopes to become, seeing that kind of honesty not as criticism but as something that can actually strengthen a relationship. It is an idea that resonates whether you are a global superstar or just someone trying to balance work and life!
Knowing that background gives American Girls a completely different tone. What first sounds like a laid back pop track actually carries a quiet layer of longing and self reflection underneath it, making the song and its over the top music video feel like two sides of the same coin.
With this highly anticipated album release, Styles is also celebrating the project with a Netflix special, One Night in Manchester, where he performs the album live for the first time which comes out TODAY. The Together, Together Tour kicks off in May 2026 with 67 shows across seven cities, including a wild 30 night residency at Madison Square Garden. It is fine, we are just crying over here on the United States West Coast. Special guests include Robyn, Shania Twain, Jamie xx, Jorja Smith, and more, which means the whole thing is basically guaranteed to be a party.
Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally shows that Styles is still evolving. Even when you think he has reached his final form, he is still experimenting and still having fun, just happening to absolutely crush it in the process. He balances dancefloor grooves with introspection, electronic experimentation with genuine intimacy, and reminds us that being a pop star can mean whatever you want it to mean. It is liberating, and that freedom is part of what put him in such a high place in the first place. This is Harry Styles doing what Harry Styles does best, and it is exactly why people keep falling for the music every single time.
