All eyes — and ears — have been on Fleshwater this year. From a powerhouse run with Deftones to festival sets at Kentucky’s Louder Than Life and Georgia’s Shaky Knees just last month, 2025 has proven to be their year.

It all led up to a ground-shaking headline tour across the States, including a stop at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Evvntly was there to capture every pulse of the beautiful madness.

The night kicked off with Balmora,(galllery) Connecticut’s metalcore bruisers, who tore into their set beneath red lights. Frontman Christian Misenti stormed the stage with unrelenting force — his vocals slicing through the room and freezing the crowd in place.

Tracks like “July,” “Unending,” “Prologue 2,” and “Bloodlord” ignited the first circle pits of the night, setting a chaotic but magnetic tone.

Next up, Oklahoma’s Chat Pile (gallery) kept the momentum at full speed. When singer Matt Keller Lehman stepped onstage barefoot, no one knew what to expect.

Each song hit with unnerving weight and conviction; “I Am Dog Now,” “Slaughterhouse,” and “Garbage Man” turned the packed venue into a choir of headbanging.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for. As Fleshwater took the stage, the Fonda transformed.

The lights softened into a hazy, dreamlike glow that mirrored the white birds suspended from the ceiling — an ethereal contrast to the chaos below. Marisa Shirar’s vocals poured through the room, mesmerizing in tracks like “Drowning Song,” “Green Street,” and “Linda Claire,” the same songs that cemented the band’s following back in 2020.

Each bassline, riff, and drum hit landed with melodic weight — heavy yet hypnotic. Fans dove into mosh pits and crowd-surfing waves while rubber ducks flew overhead, a nod to the band’s album We’re Not Here to Be Loved. But judging from the eruption of energy that night, one thing was clear: the love for Fleshwater is anything but lacking.
